WHO ARE WE?
The mission of the Canadian Reusable Cloth Diaper Association is to:
- Encourage the use of reusable diapering products as a means of waste reduction since single use diapering products generate approximately one ton of garbage per baby.
- Demonstrate the ease and functionality of modern reusable diapering products to the public.
- Lobby the national, provincial, and municipal governments to implement public policies that will encourage the use of reusable diapers as a means to reach their targeted waste reduction goals.
- Build and maintain a strong and active association of reusable diaper companies with operations mainly based in Canada that will monitor the interests of the reusable diaper industry in Canada and respond in an informed and positive manner to issues as they arise. You can save a ton of garbage too …
The founding members of the association are Rick Froese of Mother-Ease in Niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario, Kim Becker of The Baby Marketplace in Edmonton, Alberta, Sergio Jalfen of Comfy Cotton Diaper Service in Toronto, Ontario, and Betsy Thomas of Bummis in Montreal, Quebec.
Our collective vision is reflected in the mission statement above. We hope through this website to accomplish the above tasks and we encourage you to join us!
Send a letter to your MP, go to your city hall meeting and ask your city councilors to encourage young parents to use cloth diapers by subsidizing the purchase of them. Talk to your neighbours, distribute our flyers to your mom’s group, at the library, the midwife’s or pediatrician’s office, to your prenatal class, etc. Stick our banner on your blog! Thank you!
